Fred also took piano lessons at an early age and trashed them for rock-n-roll but, unlike Kevin, he stayed with the keyboard as a primary instrument (purely for convenience's sake) and bought a Hammond organ. (He almost bought a computer, but the organ was louder.) The only non-native Chattanoogan member of The BogaTones, he played in Denver and Knoxville professionally before meeting up with the guys in Atlanta, which led ultimately to his joining the band. Fred is also a founding member of the popular progressive rock group Glass Hammer. He also sings and dabbles on the guitar but his hands excrete a corrosive fluid which destroys strings so he is only allowed to touch his personal guitar that he finally got around to buying for himself. He refers to himself in the third person when writing. He stopped wearing skinny ties sometime ago, and got around to buying his own home theater system that he screens movies on for everyone.
